For 30 years, SilverSneakers^® instructors have strived to stay one step ahead of your physical activity, social and mental enrichment needs by empowering you to improve your health and well-being.

We want to honor the instructors who share a passion to help you step out of your comfort zone and support you through life’s journey.

Nominate your favorite instructor for the 2023 SilverSneakers Instructor of the Year Awards by March 17. We all love our National Trainers, but unfortunately, they are not eligible to be nominated for this award. Please think of your other favorite instructors to nominate!

WHO SUPPORTS AND ENCOURAGES YOU THE MOST?

Nominations are open March 6 – 17.

Criteria
A SilverSneakers committee will review story submissions and select the winner and finalists based on who supports and encourages members the most, who receives the most nominations and who is up to date with certifications and credentials.

Timeline
The SilverSneakers committee will select 10 finalists by April 3 and request a video detailing how those instructors inspire their members every day. The winner and top four finalists will then be announced April 24.

Award
Celebratory events are planned for May and June. Stay tuned for more information.

2022 SilverSneakers Instructor of the Year: Jen Burgmeier

Jen Burgmeier has been teaching SilverSneakers for 8 years. Her students say attending her class is so much more than just exercise. During the Covid lockdown, Jen started livestreaming her classes through her On Demand channel. Although many are back in-person, Jen continues live streaming her classes, and now has participants from around the county. She takes the time to get to know her online students as well as her in-person students.

Every year, Jen and her SilverSneakers members hold fundraisers and work with local community programs to support local people in need. Her efforts have truly created a community of caring.
